Jimmy Escobar, Licensed Professional Counselor

Jimmy Escobar is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a National Certified Counselor (NCC). In 2020, Jimmy completed his master’s degree in the Marriage & Family counseling program at Northeastern Illinois University (NEIU). Prior to graduate school, Jimmy was employed as a law enforcement officer by the Palatine Police Department for almost a decade, where he served the community as a patrol officer, a Crisis Intervention Officer, a translator, a school resource officer, and an investigator. During his tenure at the police department, Jimmy was a member of the Palatine Police and Fire Benevolent Fund. Jimmy received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), where he obtained a double-major in Criminal Justice and Psychology and a minor in Sociology.
As a former law enforcement officer, Jimmy has first-hand experience with regard to the difficulties and pressures of the careers
of first responders. He also understands the impact of being a first responder and the trauma they see on their relationship and for themselves.
As an individual, couples, and family counselor, Jimmy has helped numerous first responders, families, and their partners repair their relationships, elevate their self-awareness, and improve communication skills with each other. Further, first responders, partners and/or family members learn how to self-regulate, learn conflict resolution skills to improve their overall emotional states and how they treat each other.
Jimmy is also bilingual and bicultural and enjoys working with members of the Hispanic community and their family members.
