Dr. Steiner attended IACP in Denver. She learned and was reminded of many things facing the first responder population. Law enforcement agencies and officers are still having difficulties with changing stigma around getting mental health help. We can change by continuing to talk about it and to know the facts about confidentiality. Getting outpatient mental health help is confidential and no one can be notified unless you give consent.

VETERANS: 25% of Veterans are now first responders.

Reminder- we work with www.getheadstrong.org if you need services from us that are free of charge and bureaucracy free.

HEAD INJURIES:

75% of Firefighters have a history of at least 1 head injury in their lifetime.

65% of Law Enforcement have a history of at least 1 head injury in their lifetime.

Having a head injury increases your risk for developing a mental illness or attempting suicide. Reminder to take head injuries seriously, get checked and take preventive action.

Call 630-909-9094 for psychological help.
