POSITION SUMMARY

 

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) at First Responders Wellness Center (FRWC), you will provide counseling services to first responders and veterans experiencing mental health challenges, including therapy, annual wellness visits, and individual debriefings. You will assess client needs, develop treatment plans, and deliver therapeutic interventions that support emotional well-being and personal growth for a population that trusts clinicians who understand their world firsthand.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Clinical Therapy & Crisis Support

• Provide counseling services using evidence-based therapeutic approaches.

• Facilitate individual and/or couples and group therapy sessions.

• Provide crisis intervention services as needed.

• Provide individual debriefings following critical incidents.

Wellness Visits

• Conduct annual wellness visits for police and fire department members.

Case Management & Treatment Planning

​

• Provide comprehensive assessments to determine clients' mental health needs.

• Develop individualized treatment plans based on clients' goals and needs.

• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic care for clients.

• Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

​

Education

• Master's degree in Counseling or Social Work.

 

Licensure

• Current Illinois state licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), required at hire.

 

Experience

• Experience working with trauma.

• Experience in case management and coordinating care with other healthcare providers.

 

Specialized Knowledge

• Working knowledge of PTSD, alcohol abuse, anxiety, and depression.

• Familiarity with evidence-based practices including CBT, CPT, Exposure Therapy, DBT, and EMDR.

 

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

• Proficiency in conducting assessments and developing individualized treatment plans.

• Strong understanding of behavioral health principles and interventions.

• Ability to provide addiction counseling and support for individuals with substance use disorders.

• Ability to provide trauma-informed care for individuals experiencing PTSD, delivered with an understanding of first responder and veteran culture.

• Commitment to staying current with research and best practices in mental health counseling.

 

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

$70,000–$105,000 annually, based on experience and licensure (LCSW or LCPC).
